The 2023 Future Advisory Gift Guide

It’s time for one of our favourite yearly blogs – the Gift Guide! Either this or the Federal Budget blog, we aren’t sure what’s more exciting?

Via our clients and wider community we’re lucky enough to know incredible owners and makers who mean that filling those Christmas stockings isn’t arduous, it’s fun! We’ve got something for everyone this year so have a scroll and shop with your local small businesses who do a little Christmas jig every time they see an order come through. If you click on these quick enough, we reckon you might snag a sale item or four!

Discrepancy Records

For the music lovers in your life – stop scrolling. This is every Beatles, Stones or Beyonce fan’s dream with the biggest collections of LPs in Australia. Find every genre you can think of and if the recipient doesn’t have a record player yet… they sell those too.

Frankie and Coco

This Hampton mainstay has remained a Bayside favourite for a reason. The team selects a beautiful array of clothing, accessories and homewares and puts it in one place for you to shop. You can’t go wrong with their candles, vases or cocktail sets!

The Memo

Ask any current or to-be parent “have you heard of The Memo?” and you’ll hear a resounding yes. They’re a one-stop-shop for everything baby and you’ll find perfect stocking fillers all the way through to generous bigger presents both online and in their Armadale flagship store. Their ‘shop by stage’ tab makes it particularly easy if you’re like a lot of us and wouldn’t know where to start with baby purchasing!

Selah & Stone

Gorgeous 100% flax linen sheets, pillow cases, doona covers, quilts and baby products. Husband and wife team Jacob and Tegan have created this simplistic and luxurious brand from their home in Melbourne. So many beautiful options at various price points.

Augie & May

The most divine baby and kids shopping to be had… we absolutely love their Cuddle & Kind program where each doll sold means 10 meals given to children in need. Find everything from cots to toys, teeny tiny socks and plates that won’t break when your toddler decides to feed the dog instead.

Wax Obsession

All the delicious smelling things you could think of. Candles, reed diffusers, room sprays (the list goes on) handmade in Melbourne with scent range big enough that you’ll nail the brief for anyone.

Tarts Anon

The quickest way to earn #1 status in the “everyone bring a course” game. Gareth and Catherine started Tarts Anon as a side hustle and accidentally became a Melbourne must-do with lines out the door every single day. Pre-order your tarts and tick something off the to-do list.

The French Providore

For the foodie or Frenchie in your life. This Melbourne based team imports the best of the best from France and ships their authentic treats Australia wide. Their website also has recipes on there if you’re needing some hosting inspo in the next few weeks. If you’re on platter duty for an upcoming event… you know where to go.

Death Gin

A gin to die for 😉 Batch made in Melbourne and owned by Melbournians… and they’ve just released a special edition drop: Raspberry Gin. Such an easy gift for what we’re sure is the majority of your list!

Social Manna

If you’re in Perth and you haven’t eaten here… what are you doing? The team has got some absolutely delicious homemade goods available in the lead up to Christmas. Our pick is the gingerbread syrup *drools*.

Coff & Co

Coffee snob (we have no shame in putting our hands up) or someone who just guzzles caffeine as a life line – we all love fresh beans, especially when they’re roasted in Melbourne. Coff & Co offer one-off purchases or a subscription service where the recipient can receive bean deliveries at their door weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Such a good gift.

Comune Gallery

If you’re shopping for someone special and have the standard brief of “just get me some jewellery” then stop hovering over the ‘add to cart’ button on a stock standard shop and look at the beauties that this Melbourne gallery has to offer. Founders Eloise and Christian hand select Australian makers to showcase – you’ll find nothing other than ethically made and truly original pieces. Shop online or in their Northcote space.

Lox & Chain

If you want jewellery but less fem and more masc, duo Zak and Frei have it nailed. Find rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings all designed in Melbourne (and until recently were all made in their home).

Salt Lab

These beautiful magnesium products tick so many boxes for gift giving: they’re ethically sourced and made, partner with regenerative agriculture organisations and make sprays and salts that anyone needing better sleep, an added step in their wellness ritual or better recovery from their workouts. We also love that they offer refillable pouches so if your gift recipient wants to stock up, they don’t have to buy the entire product again.

Nudie.Co

Intimate and pleasure products is an industry that’s absolutely boomed this year, and Nudie.Co are passionate about empowering people to have confidence, education and inspiration to connect with their bodies. We love what they’re about and their products will give your special someone something to be extra happy about…

Threadheads

Whether you’re looking for someone to create a gag gift you’re already chuckling at or just want a cool tee, hoodie, mug (or literally anything else that can be printed on), you’ll find it on Threadheads. It’s like a library of designs that hits every niche theme possible. We love the I am Kenough tee or any of the Christmas ones! Matching team outfits anyone?

Gifta Gift Cards

This might be the ultimate solution for the impossible-to-buy-for person. How it works: select a gift card option for the broad interest or demographic of who you’re buying for (eg/ a parent, a travel lover, a gardener) and the recipient can use that one gift card on the brands of their choosing. Heaps of flexibility and means you can nail the gift without having to choose one store.

We hope your Christmas shopping just got much easier! Ho ho ho.
